How to grow Shallot 'Eiffel'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Position in a full sun location and remember to water moderately. Eiffel is generally regarded as a very hardy plant, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Eiffel needs a loamy soil with a ph of 6.0 to 7.0 (weakly acidic soil to neutral soil).

Growing Eiffel from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.98 inches (2.5 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 13°C / 55°F.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Eiffel about 28 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Eiffel

Eiffel is very hardy, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
