How to grow Beetroot 'Harrier'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

A full sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Harrier is thought of as half hardy, so it will require protection in frosts and low temperatures. Ideally plant in loamy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.5 and 7.0 as Harrier likes to be in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Growing Harrier from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 0.78 inches (2.0 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 5.85 inches (15.0 cm) between Beetroot plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Harrier about 14 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Harrier

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Harrier is a half hardy plant.
