How to grow Beetroot 'Flat of Egypt'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Flat of Egypt is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Ideally plant in loamy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 7.0 and 7.0 as Flat of Egypt likes to be in neutral soil.

Growing Flat of Egypt from seed

Not recommended for indoor sowing. Important to keep soil moist to prevent crusting over, which causes poor emergence. Temperature and moisture stress can cause zoning (internal rings) and premature bolting.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.5 inches (1.27 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.
