Tarpy likes a position of full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Tarpy is thought of as half hardy, so protect with a row cover whenever the temperatures drop. The USDA Hardiness Zones typically associated with Tarpy are Zone 6 and Zone 9. Tarpy needs a loamy soil with a ph of 6.0 to 7.0 (weakly acidic soil to neutral soil).
