How to grow Radish 'Red top'

Thin to 5cm and aim for quick growing plants to harvest without woodiness

Keep in mind when planting that Red top is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.

Growing Red top from seed

Quick to germinate, start when air temperature does not fall below 7C. Sow throughout spring and early summer to prolong the harvest

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 7°C / 45°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Red top

Thin to at least 5 cm apart

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Red top is a tender plant.

Harvesting Red top

Grow quickly in rich soil to prevent toughness

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by late spring.
