How to grow Radish 'Red Rubin'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Red Rubin is thought of as half hardy, so although it can survive a small mild cold snap, it is wise to ensure that this plant is protected from frost damage. Planting Red Rubin in loamy, clay and sandy soil with a ph of between 5.5 and 6.8 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Red Rubin from seed

Sow 0.47 inches (1.2 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 0.98 inches (2.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Red Rubin about 28 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Red Rubin

As Red Rubin is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
