Arava needs a potting mix and loamy soil with a ph of 6.1 to 7.5 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Arava from seed

Look to ensure a distance 1.88 feet (58.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Arava about 14 days before your last frost date.
