Onion 'Roja de Niort'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Roja de Niort is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to go dormant over the long winter months. Planting Roja de Niort in loamy, clay and sandy soil with a ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Aim to sow 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.
