How to grow Carrot 'Miami'

  • Full Sun

  • High

A full sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Miami is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Ideally plant in loamy and sandy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.0 and 6.5 as Miami likes to be in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Miami from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.23 inches (0.6 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 16°C / 61°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Miami about 14 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Miami

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Miami is a very hardy plant.
