Avoid excess nitrogen which causes hairy forked roots. Cover the seeds lightly with soil. Do not allow the soil to dry out or crust. Thin when seedlings are 2" tall, if necessary or if roots are crowded.1

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately.
