Calendula 'Alpha'

Harvest flowers often enough to encourage blossoming.

Enjoys a full sun position in your garden and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Alpha is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures. Alpha requires a loamy soil with a ph of 6.1 - 7.8 - it grows best in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 7.8 inches (20.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 10°C / 50°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Alpha about 35 days before your last frost date.

Sow seeds 1/2-1 cm deep, 15-20 cm apart in well-drained soil.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Alpha is a half hardy plant.
