Astilbe 'Salmonea'

Astilbe simplicifolia

How to grow Astilbe 'Salmonea'

  • Dappled Sun

  • High

Try to plant in a location that enjoys dappled sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Salmonea is thought of as hardy, so it can be safe to leave outdoors for the majority of winter (although if in doubt, using a row cover is often a good idea). A soil ph of between 5.6 and 7.5 is ideal for Salmonea as it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Salmonea from seed

Aim for a seed spacing of approx. 1.46 feet (45.0 cm).

Transplanting Salmonea

As Salmonea is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
