Keep in mind when planting that Canadian Red is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.0 and 6.8 as Canadian Red likes to be in weakly acidic soil.
If you grow from seed it will take an extra year to produce stalks and will not always be true to type.
Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Canadian Red is a hardy plant.
