How to grow Sweet pepper 'Orange Sun'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Orange Sun is thought of as tender, so it is really important to plant out well after your last frost date. Ideally plant in potting mix, loamy and silty soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.5 and 7.5 as Orange Sun likes to be in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Orange Sun from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between Sweet pepper plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Orange Sun about 60 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Orange Sun

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 13°C / 55°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Orange Sun is a tender plant.
