Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Common is thought of as half hardy, so remember to watch your frost dates and ensure you have this plant protected when the temperature dips. Common requires a loamy soil with a ph of 6.0 - 7.0 - it grows best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.
