How to grow Spinach 'F1 reddy'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that F1 reddy is thought of as half hardy, so it will need protecting in periods of cold weather. Planting F1 reddy in loamy soil with a ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Growing F1 reddy from seed

Aim to sow 0.49 inches (1.25 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 3.12 inches (8.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 8°C / 46°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing F1 reddy about 60 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting F1 reddy

As F1 reddy is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out (around 0°C / 32°F as a guideline) - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
