Keep in mind when planting that Zinfandel is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures. A soil ph of between 6.0 and 8.0 is ideal for Zinfandel as it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

As Zinfandel is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
