How to grow Daffodil 'Bridal Crown'

Pinch off old flower heads, and remove the developing seed heads. This will conserve the bulbs energy and help make flowers the next season.

Plant in a location that enjoys dappled sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Bridal Crown is thought of as hardy, so Bridal Crown will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months.

Growing Bridal Crown from seed

Bridal crown is not usually grown from seed and the easiest way to grow more is to divide established clumps after the foliage fades in early summer.

Look to ensure a distance 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 5.85 inches (15.0 cm) deep.

Transplanting Bridal Crown

Plant out bulbs in the autumn 10 cm deep in clumps of at least three bulbs. They can be planted under grass, hedges or trees or used in pots and tubs

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Bridal Crown is a hardy plant.

Harvesting Bridal Crown

To use as a cut flower, pick the stem as the buds begin to open. They will open fully in the vase.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid spring.
