Chard 'Italian Silver Rib'

Enjoys a full sun position in your garden and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Italian Silver Rib is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will survive though longer winters with little or no damage. Ensure your soil is loamy and clay and has a ph of between 6.1 and 7.5 as Chard is a weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil loving plant.

Look to ensure a distance 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 10°C / 50°F to ensure good germination.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Italian Silver Rib is a very hardy plant.
