How to grow Lettuce 'Canasta'
Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water often. Canasta is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Canasta needs a loamy soil with a ph of 5.8 to 6.8 (weakly acidic soil).
Growing Canasta from seed
Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 7.8 inches (20.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.27 inches (0.7 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 5°C / 41°F.
Transplanting Canasta
Canasta is tender, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
