How to grow Coriander 'Xiang Cai'

  • Partial Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Xiang Cai is generally regarded as a hardy plant, so it can be safe to leave outdoors for the majority of winter (although if in doubt, using a row cover is often a good idea). Xiang Cai needs a loamy and sandy soil with a ph of 4.9 to 8.2 (moderately acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Xiang Cai from seed

Aim to sow 0.23 inches (0.6 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 5.85 inches (15.0 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 21°C / 70°F.

Transplanting Xiang Cai

Xiang Cai is hardy, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
