How to grow Sweet Mock Orange 'Aureus'

  • Full Sun

  • Low

Water regularly, about every 2 weeks in dry weather, more often in hot weather during the first season. An annual light application of organic fertilizer is appreciated in the spring. If pruning to control shape, do it immediately after bloom. For an older, overgrown shrub, prune 1/3 of the branches to ground level each year.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Aureus is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will typically do well in a variety of different extremes of cold temperature. Ideally plant in loamy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.0 and 7.0 as Aureus likes to be in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.
