Chili pepper 'Afghan long'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Afghan long is thought of as half hardy, so although it can survive a small mild cold snap, it is wise to ensure that this plant is protected from frost damage. Planting Afghan long in loamy and sandy soil with a ph of between 7.0 and 8.5 is ideal for as it does best in neutral soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Sow 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 1.95 inches (5.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 18°C / 64°F to ensure good germination.

As Afghan long is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
