How to grow Chili pepper 'Autlan'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Autlan is thought of as tender, so it is really important to plant out well after your last frost date. Planting Autlan in loamy and sandy soil with a ph of between 7.0 and 8.5 is ideal for as it does best in neutral soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Autlan from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) between Chili pepper plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 18°C / 64°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Autlan about 38 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Autlan

As Autlan is tender, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
