How to grow Pea 'no stake'

  • Partial Sun

  • Very High

A partial sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water very often. Keep in mind when planting that no stake is thought of as half hardy, so it will need protecting in periods of cold weather. Planting no stake in loamy soil with a ph of between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Growing no stake from seed

Aim to sow 0.99 inches (2.54 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing no stake about 35 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting no stake

As no stake is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
