Pea 'Austrian winter'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Austrian winter is thought of as half hardy, so it will require protection in frosts and low temperatures. Planting Austrian winter in loamy soil with a ph of between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Sow at a depth of approx. 0.99 inches (2.54 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm) between Pea plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.

As Austrian winter is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
