Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Bantam is thought of as half hardy, so protect with a row cover whenever the temperatures drop. Bantam requires a loamy soil with a ph of 5.5 - 6.5 - it grows best in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Bantam from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.99 inches (2.54 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.
