Kale 'Vates non-heading'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Vates non-heading is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm).

Thin seedlings to 2-feet apart when they reach 4-6 inches tall.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Vates non-heading is a half hardy plant.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by late summer.
