How to grow Rosemary 'Arp'

  • Full Sun

  • Low

Prune the plant every autumn to keep the plant at an ideal size.

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Arp is thought of as hardy, so Arp will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months.

Growing Arp from seed

Rosemary is difficult to grow from seed – normally is propagated from cuttings.

Look to ensure a distance 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.23 inches (0.6 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 16°C / 61°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Arp

Arp rosemary is known for its cold-hardiness, at least relative to other rosemary varieties. It is typically hardy to Zone 6, rather than 7/8.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Arp is a hardy plant.
