How to grow Coneflower 'Amado'

  • Full Sun

  • Low

A full sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Amado is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures. Ensure your soil has a ph of between 6.0 and 8.0 as Amado is a weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil loving plant.

Growing Amado from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.95 feet (60.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 25°C / 77°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Amado about 56 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Amado

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Amado is a half hardy plant.
