How to grow Coneflower 'pallida'

  • Full Sun

  • Low

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that pallida is thought of as half hardy, so it will need cloching or fleece protection when the temperature dips. Ensure your soil has a ph of between 6.0 and 8.0 as pallida is a weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil loving plant.

Growing pallida from seed

Look to ensure a distance 1.95 feet (60.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 25°C / 77°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing pallida about 56 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting pallida

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as pallida is a half hardy plant.
