How to grow Leek 'Colossal'

A partial sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Colossal is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions.

Growing Colossal from seed

Ensure a distance of 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - look to sow at a depth of approximately 0.78 inches (2.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 16°C / 61°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Colossal

Mke hole with dibber 6 in/15cm deep and place plant into each hole then fill with water. DO NOT FILL HOLE WITH SOIL

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Colossal is a very hardy plant.

Harvesting Colossal

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid winter.
