How to grow Cabbage 'Hispi'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Hispi is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. A soil ph of between 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal for Hispi as it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Hispi from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 3.12 inches (8.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.47 inches (1.2 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Hispi about 45 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Hispi

As Hispi is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
