Rubra likes a position of full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Rubra is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.0 and 7.5 as Rubra likes to be in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 3.12 inches (8.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.47 inches (1.2 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.
