Celery 'Golden Spartan'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Golden Spartan is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.

Try to ensure a gap of at least 0.99 inches (2.54 cm) when sowing to prevent overcrowding your seedlings.

Sow under glass in February for an early crop, or March-April for a main crop. They are not frost-hardy – plant outdoors May-June, 23cm (9") apart in each direction. Harvest July to mid-November. No earthing up required.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Golden Spartan is a tender plant.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid summer.
