How to grow Cucumber 'Calypso'

  • Full Sun

  • High

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Calypso is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Calypso needs a soil ph of 5.5 to 6.8 (weakly acidic soil).

Growing Calypso from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 11.7 inches (30.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.47 inches (1.2 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 16°C / 61°F.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Calypso about 14 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Calypso

Calypso is tender, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.

Harvesting Calypso

This variety tends to mature and be ready for harvest in late spring.
