Cucumber 'Pioneer'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Pioneer is thought of as tender, so it is really important to ensure that the outside temperature is well above freezing before planting or moving outdoors. Pioneer requires a soil ph of 5.5 - 6.8 meaning it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Look to ensure a distance 7.92 inches (20.32 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.49 inches (1.25 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Pioneer about 7 days after your last frost date.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Pioneer is a tender plant.

Expect harvests to start to occur in early summer.
