How to grow Aloe '"Elognica"'

Loves full sun and very light on the water. It also likes a very gritty mix.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water very sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that "Elognica" is thought of as tender, so it is really important to ensure that the outside temperature is well above freezing before planting or moving outdoors.

Growing "Elognica" from seed

Needs lots of light, just a dusting of soil over the top of the seed

Transplanting "Elognica"

Don’t even attempt to transplant until the seedling is at least an inch tall and root are very well established.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as "Elognica" is a tender plant.

Aloe "Elognica" Etymology

The genus name Aloe is derived from the Arabic, Alloch or Alloeh1, and translated as Allal in Greek and Hebrew, meaning “shining bitter substance”, which describes aloe sap2.
