Rose 'Blairii Number One'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Blairii Number One is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Planting Blairii Number One in loamy soil with a ph of between 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Hybrid variety. Will not reliably grow true to type from seed.

As Blairii Number One is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.

" ‘Blairii No. 1’ usually gets tagged to 1845 or 1844; but the Floricultural Cabinet is talking about it in 1837, and lo and behold [Thomas] Rivers [1837 catalog] offers it (construing his ‘Blairii’ as ‘Blairii No. 1’) in 1837. Consequently, we can attribute and date it as “Blair, -1837” (or even “Blair/Rivers, -1837” should anyone want to live on the edge)". ¹
