Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Tradescant is thought of as hardy, so Tradescant will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months. Tradescant needs a loamy soil with a ph of 5.5 to 6.5 (weakly acidic soil).

Look to ensure a distance 3.96 feet (1.22 metres) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) deep.
