Like all orchids this plant should not be potted in regular potting soil. A bark mix (or clay pebbles for semi hydro) should be used instead. Do not let oncidiums dry completely but make sure they are not waterlogged either.

Flower stalk should be cut after bloom is gone and stalk turns brown and dry.1

Enjoys a partial sun position in your garden and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Sweet Sugar is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.
