Brussels sprout 'Valiant'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Valiant is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.98 feet (60.96 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm).

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Valiant about 21 days before your last frost date.

Cool-season crop. For early harvest, start indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors. Or seed directly outdoors. Sow 2-3 seeds together every 2 feet. When seedlings are 1 inch tall, thin to one plant every 2 feet. Break off lower leaves when sprouts begin to form. ¹

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 7°C / 45°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Valiant is a half hardy plant.

Expect harvests to start to occur in late autumn.
