Loves growing in moist soil, thrives in boggy environments. Do not allow to dry out in late summer; keep watered until rainy season returns, if needed.

Some recommend the same kind of fertilizer that rhodendrons use; others simply recommend amending the soil with a lot of organic material and maybe extra nitrogen to compensate for it being tied up in the soil for a while during the decomposition process. Everyone recommends plenty of water!
