An heirloom from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, introduced to the market in 1997 by Carolyn Male. The tomato originally had no name, so when Male asked Barry Comdon (whom she received the seed from), Comdon referred to his friend who gave him the seed, and the name Sophie’s Choice was chosen.
