Tomato 'Bitonto'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Bitonto is thought of as tender, so it is really important to ensure that the outside temperature is well above freezing before planting or moving outdoors. Bitonto needs a loamy soil with a ph of 5.5 to 7.5 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Start seeds indoors six weeks before last frost date. Seeds saved from this (hybrid) variety are not likely to grow true to the parent plant.

Look to ensure a distance 0.78 inches (2.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 12°C / 54°F to ensure good germination.

Plant to the first set of true leaves to promote strong root growth.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Bitonto is a tender plant.
