Onion 'Mini Purplette'

“Minis” will bulb smaller and sooner the farther north they are grown. Suited to 40° and higher latitudes for mini cipollinis, and for small to medium onions farther south.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Mini Purplette is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Ensure your soil is loamy, clay and sandy and has a ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 as Onion is a weakly acidic soil to neutral soil loving plant.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.0 inches (2.56 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.
