How to grow Parsnip 'Turga'

  • Partial Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Turga is thought of as half hardy, so it will need cloching or fleece protection when the temperature dips. Turga needs a loamy soil with a ph of 6.0 to 6.5 (weakly acidic soil).

Growing Turga from seed

Look to ensure a distance 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.47 inches (1.2 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 16°C / 61°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Turga about 15 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Turga

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Turga is a half hardy plant.
