Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Accord is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.

Growing Accord from seed

Best grown from specially prepared tubers called ’Seed potatoes"

Look to ensure a distance 1.30 feet (40.0 cm) between Accord seeds when sowing to make sure your seedlings have enough space.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Accord about 14 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Accord

Chit then plant out in spring. Bank up to protect new growth from frost and again to keep tubers from becoming green

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 10°C / 50°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Accord is a tender plant.

Harvesting Accord

Harvest as an early after the plant has flowered.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid summer.
