Try to plant in a location that enjoys dappled sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Mainz is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.6 and 7.5 as Mainz likes to be in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Try to ensure a gap of at least 1.46 feet (45.0 cm) when sowing to prevent overcrowding your seedlings.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Mainz is a hardy plant.
