Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Rheinische zucker is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures. Ideally plant in loamy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.5 and 6.5 as Rheinische zucker likes to be in weakly acidic soil.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.99 inches (2.54 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Rheinische zucker is a half hardy plant.
